"A personal, vulnerable volume of poems about loving cats."— Kirkus Reviews
McCready celebrates her pet cats in this illustrated poetry collection.
To be a cat owner is to spend innumerable hours entranced by the things your cats do. The author, a prolific documenter of her cats both in photographs and in verse, knows this all too well. “I have a camera that’s inside my eye,” begins one poem. “My little babies are always posing for me. / Sometimes they run, and sometimes they play, / then my minds eye video stores it all away.” In these 24 poems, McCready praises her many cats, current and former, documenting the joys and trials of cat ownership. She composes odes to particular cats, like Devlin and Rhys, and writes from the perspective of others, like the “terrible and alone” Daisy.
Professional Trade Review
Airie McCready, after earning her journalism degree, took an unconventional path. Instead of journalism, she immersed herself in fine art, computer graphics, and freelancing as an art director. After her marriage ended, she adopted a new name to shed her ex-husband’s shadow. This marked the beginning of her self-discovery journey, leading her to help people understand the profound love and companionship cats offer. Driven by her passion for teaching, McCready has become an expert in Sphynx and Devon Rex cat behavior, believing her deep connection with her felines is both physical and spiritual.
About her writing, she states, “The joy of a new kitten or cat releases emotions that make me tumble deep down to see who that kitten is on an energetic level as well as how they fit into our world as they grow up. Later, the loss of a beloved member of my feline family triggers what I have learned and what needs to be let go and grieved. Caught in a Cat Romance expresses the polarity of love and grief that any pet lover can understand.”

Reader Reviews!
I love this book! Yes it gives you some great ideas for hobbies but more than that it also can help you find purpose if you feel like you are drifting and a little lost. This book provides a wide variety of suggestions that cover everything from outdoor to indoor, physical to cerebral, and solo to group.

With 50 very much in the rearview mirror, I found this book a comprehensive digest of activities and ideas for 'seniors', some of which I have tackled, some I wished I had tackled in my thirties, but some that I think I'll have a crack at - astronomy, genealogy, plus a few bucket list adventures for starters. This book is ... (See review source)
